How does first amendment limit the federal gov ?

     The first amendment limits the federal government because the government can't do anything if i talk stink. But not all forms of speech are protected. For example it doesn't protect fighting words,    and lawless actions. Another example is that some places such as Russia when they talk stink they go jail, but in the United State the government can't do anything about it.

COURT CASES ~

     One court case i know is about the Pussy Riot. It talks about 3 members imprisoned in Russia that talks trash about the president and got arrested and been in jail for 2 years. This refer to the first amendment freedom of speech because in the U.S we have the freedom to say anything and share our ideas as long as it doesn't hurt anyone but not some states or country don't have this freedom. I also think that they should free them. I feel sad about this because they had the freedom to speak and say anything but they got arrested for it .

First amendment.

 First amendment ....  " Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or phrobiting the free there of; or abridging the freedom of speech or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble and to petition the government for a redress of greivance ".

 And one of the rights in the bill of rights i choose is the freedom of speech . I choose this because i been told that i couldn't say anything but now i know that we could say anything we want, because it is one of our freedoms .

 Our founding fathers created this amendment to settle down other people and also United State. 

This is important to me because i can say anything without going jail because each of us have the freedom to do something with out anyone telling us what to do, and no one can take this away from us because this is one of the bill of rights.

Solution.

How do we stop domestic violence? There are many ways you could stop domestic violence. If you are the victim, one thing you could do is call the police department and report to them what is happening. But what if you are to scared to call the police because the abuser might hit your or kill you? If you are in that situation the best thing you could do is get out of that house, take your kids, and things you need and go to a safer place or a friend that you could trust. Another thing you could do is planing to divorce or break up with that person and go to someone you trust. It is not easy to stop domestic violence but these are the things you can do.

Why do we care about domestic violence? Well, for me I care about domestic violence beause it can happen to anyone and even teens. I care because I'm a teenager and if this happen to me I would go out of control. 40% of teenage girls ages between 14 and 17 knows someone that got beaten or hit by their partners. Domestic violence can happen to anyyone, anytime, and anywhere. Who get affected? The person that is getting hit or beaten because how would you feel if you had bruises all over your body. You would feel depressed, upset, sad and more. It can also effect performince in school, job loss, loss of housing and losing kids. As you can see, domestic violence can ruin your life or somebody else's life and the people that are getting abused are too scared and afraid to come forward and report whats happening .

Stop the Domestic  Violence! It’s not cool yo! Abusers may hurt you, and also threaten you in different ways.  Domestic violence usually happens in relationships, It can happen in marriage, and people dating. It could affect everybody.  Everywhere, around the world this is happening and you may not even know it .  50% to 70% of men abuse their wives and children. Drugs also can lead to Domestic violence, and being drunk can make you aggressive and out of control and lead to domestic violence.

There are different kinds of violence.  One of them is Verbal Abuse, I think this is the most common abuse. Verbal Abuse includes screaming, shouting, sarcasm and putdowns. Another type of abuse is Emotional Abuse, this means making people believe something that they aren’t.

In Oahu, the police receives 1,000 phone calls every month reporting for domestic violence. Domestic violence is increasing and 23% were killed on Oahu and recent 12 month period.  This is a BIG problem, we need to stop this before more people get involved;(
